Latin,, Asclepias gigantea, A. procera, Calotropis hamiltonii, C. procera ; French, Ecorce de racine de Mudar; German, Mudarwurzelrinde ; Vernacular, Mudar ; Urdu, Aak.
Description:--
An ornamental evergreen plant with a long, woody, branching root, and large, erect stem 6 feet high, branching and downy. The leaves are opposite, sessile, cordate, entire. The flowers appear from July to September, are small, whitish or reddish, numerous on one stalk. All parts of the plant yield a milky, acrid juice.

Found in :- Pakistan and India, the southwestern part of Asia, and Egypt ; common in dry, waste ground.

Introduced into homoeopathic practice:--

Part Used:--
The root.

Preparation:--
(a)Tincture Q: = Drug Strength 1/10
Calotropis gigantea, moist magma containing solids 100gm.
Distilled water, a sufficient quantity in this proportion 500 Cc.
Strong alcohol, a sufficient quantity in this proportion 537 Cc.
To make one thousand cubic centimeters of tincture.

(b) Dilutions: 2x to contain one part tincture, four parts distilled water, five parts alcohol; 3x and higher with dispensing alcohol.
