An ornamental evergreen plant with a long, woody, branching root, and
large, erect stem 6 feet high, branching and downy. The leaves are
opposite, sessile, cordate, entire. The flowers appear from July to
September, are small, whitish or reddish, numerous on one stalk.
All parts of the plant yield a milky, acrid juice.
Found in :-
Pakistan and India, the southwestern part of Asia, and Egypt ; common in dry, waste ground.
