Latin, Rauwolfia heterophila, Ophioxylon serpentinum L ;
Spanish, Serpentina, Sarna de perro (Dog’s itch);
Urdu, Chhoti-e-chanden.
A small shrub native to the orient, from India to Sumatra. The genus
Rauwolfia is large and has a wide distribution in the topics. Flowers
are white or pink, calyx and corola divided in five sections; the
fruit is a drupe.
Found in :-
India to Sumatra and Colima in Mexico.
